About
Alexander's Collection is not just another art gallery, it is the gallery of haute couture art. Its display are above the conventional concept of contemporary art and the gallery challenges with their novelty in the approach of creating masterpieces.
We do not seek to make art for everyone, but only for a select few, as art has historically been. Elite in art has preserved the great names in art. We have chosen just a very few artists who best meet our vision of the ultimate ideal of beauty and artistic execution.
Working together for many years, we create unique pieces that decorate interiors around the world. High art should be elitist, it should be possessed by the chosen few. We do not share the contemporary approach to art. To create the works we present, you need to have great talent.
Some of our artists are world renowned. However, we choose only the geniuses. They cannot be many, each of them is unique. We are often blamed for being an art centre for billionaires. That's partly true, with one correction. We create art for the chosen few.
In parallel to paintings from our private collection, we have been collecting for almost 20 years, the gallery presents the so-called silk painting. This is a completely new word and direction in art, when the artist's sketch is translated into embroidery with the finest silk threads, conveying the smallest details of the artist's drawing.

Art of Couture
While "couture" is a term traditionally associated with high-fashion and bespoke garment creation, it can be applied to contemporary art to describe works that exhibit exceptional craftsmanship, artistic vision, and a dedication to detail comparable to the most exquisite couture pieces . These works are not necessarily clothing but could be any art form that demonstrates a similar level of meticulousness and artistic intent.
Here's a breakdown:
-
Couture's Core Meaning:
Haute couture, in fashion, signifies handcrafted, custom-fitted clothing made with the finest materials and techniques, often produced in limited quantities.
-
Contemporary Art Connection:
Contemporary artists may create works that embody this same level of dedication to detail and artistic vision, regardless of whether they are wearable or not.
-
Examples:
-
Meticulously crafted sculptures: Imagine a sculpture built with such precision and fine detail that it rivals the intricacy of a couture garment.
-
Complex mixed-media installations: An installation with layers of meaning and meticulously placed elements might be considered "couture level" in its execution.
-
Highly detailed paintings: A painting with an extraordinary level of detail, perhaps using unique techniques, could also be described as "couture level". Beyond the Object:
-
-
The concept of "couture level" in contemporary art also extends to the ideas and concepts explored. Artists might meticulously craft their message, creating a powerful and impactful experience for the viewer, similar to how a couturier carefully designs a garment to evoke a specific feeling or aesthetic.
-
Artistic Intention:
-
Ultimately, whether a piece of contemporary art is considered "couture level" often comes down to the artist's intention, the level of craftsmanship employed, and the overall impact of the work.
-
In essence, "couture level" in contemporary art is not about the medium, but about the quality, detail, and artistic vision that elevates a work to a place of exceptional and refined creation.
