"Scythian" is a definitive statement piece of contemporary wall art—a rare collaboration with Academician Michael Verkholantsev. This dominant, museum-quality masterpiece bridges 2,500 years of history with avant-garde couture techniques, presenting a contemporary representation of the ancient nomadic soul.
Rendered in a striking, grotesque style that fuses Mannerism with a Pop Art aesthetic, the image of the Scythian deity symbolizes the fierce elegance of a culture that historically united Asian and Greek design.
The artwork is executed using a sophisticated mixed media technique, where thousands of hand-embroidered silk and gold threads create a shimmering, three-dimensional texture that reacts dynamically to light. The piece is encased in a bespoke ebony wood frame, hand-polished with twenty layers of natural resin using an ancient 2,000-year-old Chinese lacquer technique.
The resulting "liquid obsidian" finish transforms the frame into an integral part of the artwork's narrative. As a unique creation by an artist represented in the State Hermitage and the Rijksmuseum, "Scythian" offers a powerful focal point for high-end residential galleries and private libraries.
