2024

97 x 93 cm

Unique Masterpiece (One-of-a-Kind). Registered in the Alexander’s Collection private archives as a museum-level asset. Currently available for private acquisition.

"Shadow of Leonardo" is a dominant, museum-level masterpiece that bridges 2,500 years of history with avant-garde couture techniques. This exclusive collaboration with Academician Michael Verkholantsev — whose works are held in the permanent collections of the State Hermitage, Rijksmuseum, and the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts — creates a surrealist dialogue with the genius of Leonardo da Vinci. The composition features Leonardo’s iconic self-portrait emerging like a "shadow from the past" through a smoky, ethereal space filled with secret signs and fanciful ornaments.

The artwork showcases extraordinary technical mastery, utilizing complex volumetric hand-embroidery in fine silk and shimmering silver metallic threads. A defining feature of this masterpiece is its frame, crafted using an ancient, 2,000-year-old Chinese lacquer technique. Twenty layers of natural resin applied to ebony wood create a "liquid glass" mirror finish, transforming the frame into a mystical portal. "Shadow of Leonardo" is a unique investment piece that blends Renaissance mystery with the pinnacle of contemporary textile luxury.
