Feb is one of Apollo's names, in Greek and Roman mythology, god of light (hence his nickname Phebus - “radiant”, “shining”), patron of the arts, leader and patron of the Muses, predictor of the future, healer-god, patron of migrants, personification of male beauty. According to many ancient myths - the son of Zeus and Leto. At the age of a few days defeated the serpent Python living on Mount Parnassus. Near this place is located the city of Delphi, which the ancient Greeks considered the center of the world. The Oracle of Delphi was the most revered sanctuary where prophetic answers were given on behalf of Apollo. Control over this city, speculation over the interpretations of Apollo's “divinations” became a significant political factor in Hellas. The importance of this god is evidenced by the number of festivals, oracles and temples in honor of Apollo, the name of many months in the calendar in honor of one or another of his hypostases.
After the conquests of Alexander the Great, the cult of Apollo spread as far as Hindustan. In the Roman Republic his cult was adopted in the V century B.C.
