Embroidery is the most ancient art. Today, it is brought to perfection. This was facilitated by the development of technology dyeing silk threads. The range of shades today knows almost no limit. Why do we pay so much attention to this art? This is primarily due to the fact that the paintings, embroidered by masters of the highest class are a great alternative to painting in the interior.
We are talking not just about paintings, but about works of aке at a completely different level, rather than the numerous works that are easy to buy in galleries or simply ordered over the Internet. We are not interested in this level of painting for high-end interiors. That's where indisputable works of art are needed. Look at how much a decent painting costs in the auction houses of the world. And we're not talking about paintings by old masters, just contemporary art. The cost of works even in decent galleries in New York or London start at 50,000 dollars and above. These are works from recognized artists.
Luxury interiors require exactly this kind of works - Embroidery in Contemporary Interiors. Therefore, we cooperate with many famous artists, with whom we have a license agreement to use their original designs for author's repetitions of a limited series. Silk embroidery is able to repeat the slightest brush strokes of the artist and fully convey the energy of the work. Only author's works, specially selected by our art experts are used in the interiors that we design. This is the first reason.
The second reason is the unlimited possibilities for decorating, when it is required to create absolutely unique interiors, which by themselves pass into the category of masterpieces. For example, to turn the walls in the interior of a yacht into an incredible perspective. Silk is a very durable material. Created 200 years ago, Chinese silk embroideries are still kept in museums around the world and are in good condition. Silk has a unique ability to reflect light, making the surface literally come to life.
And finally - the price. The cost of paintings in silk is incommensurable with painting, even with the payment of solid royalties to the authors of the works. Such works will never cause puzzled looks even art connoisseurs in the house.
Before us, it is one of the most famous works of artists Louis Laffite (1770- 1828) & Joseph Blondel (1781-1853) for French wall paper, translated into silkscreen. To achieve such a level, one needs the original in order to see the smallest strokes left by the authors on the canvases.
This antique work was acquired as a digitally scanned copy of the original in Maistricht, at a famous antique exhibition. Further, the artisans worked on the canvas for over a year, using up to a million shades of silk.
We are using this masterpiece for the entrance panel in the lobby of a private villa. The effect that the actual work produces is simply stunning.
Another trend in embroidery is the use of the finest silver threads, with which, like silkscreen, masters embroider the canvas, using only the graphic pattern of the original. Silver threads are treated with special compositions to get shades. To create such a work, the technique of 3D embroidery is used. To repeat a second time such a work of art, we were not able to. Masters worked on the canvas for over 2 years. In fact - this is a single instance.
Silver reflects light in a very special way, quite differently from silk. Such works require special interiors where such museum-quality works of art could have a worthy place and look like in a contemporary art gallery.
The latest work, Seoul and David, is biblical characters, a new reading in the mannerist style by the internationally renowned graphic artist Academician Verkholantsev, one of the rare artists working in the mannerist style today. This work is in production for a private collection. The graphic original is presented here. We execute it in thick silk in a three-dimensional embroidery technique using 24K gold threads running through the author's entire canvas. This is also the only copy.
Who was Saul?
According to the biblical text, Saul is the first king of the people of Israel and the founder of the united kingdom of Israel, the creator of the regular Jewish army; in the Old Testament narrative he is the embodiment of a ruler who was placed on the throne by the will of God, but who became displeasing to Him.
David (Hebrew for "beloved") was the second king of Israel, the victor over the giant Goliath, the father of the wise king Solomon, and the author of the biblical Book of Psalms.
