THE AUGMENTO CHRONICLE: JOURNEYS THROUGH REALITY

At the heart of the Alexander’s Collection currently stands a monumental undertaking: the creation of a definitive Triptych from the "Travels" series by world-renowned artist Misha Lenn. This series is not merely a depiction of geography; it is an exploration of the Augmento style—a philosophical movement that redefines the boundaries of contemporary art.

I. THE PHILOSOPHY: THE GENESIS OF AUGMENTO

The Triptych is rooted in the Augmento style (from the Latin Augmento – "growth"), an artistic direction formed in the second decade of the 21st century. Founded by Misha Lenn, Augmento is an allegory of existence, leading the viewer into an "augmented reality" through the layering of a delicate web of lines over semi-realistic imagery.

It is "Poetry in Motion." Augmento draws inspiration from the eroticism of Klimt, the linear graphics of Picasso, the aestheticism of Beardsley, and the metamorphic infinity of Escher. The process unfolds in two stages:

  • The Perception: Capturing reality and placing it upon the plane.

  • The Meta-Perception: Layers of unexpected relationships and shifting meanings that transform the narrative, merging the past, present, and future into a single "Graphic Saga."

II. THE SERIES: "TRAVELS" — CITIES OF THE SOUL

The Triptych explores three iconic destinations: "Theatrical Venice," "Hong Kong Promenade," and "Dancing Paris."

Misha Lenn rejects recognizable landmarks in favor of hidden symbols, sensations, and human emotions. The viewer is invited to find "hidden signs" woven into the composition, becoming an active participant in the story.

  • The Duality of Man: Faces are depicted only in half—Lenn’s signature style—symbolizing the eternal dualism between mind and body, soul and physical form.

  • The Sacred Square: A golden square anchors each composition. It represents the Soul and the four elements of the classical world: Air (Hera), Water (Aphrodite), Earth (Demeter), and Fire (Hestia), held together by Rhea, the Mother of Gods.

"The viewer is not a spectator, but a co-creator of the story." — Misha Lenn.

III. WORK IN PROGRESS: "HONG KONG PROMENADE"

Central Masterpiece (200 x 280 cm)

Currently, in our studio, the central panel of the Triptych—"Hong Kong Promenade"—is reaching its artisan peak. This work is a testament to the "Revival of Ancient Craft," where the ethereal nature of watercolor is translated into the permanence of precious materials.

  • The Palette of the Night: Executed on deep black silk using high-density silver gilt threads, punctuated by accents of gold.

  • The Luminous Metropolis: To capture the architectural glass-and-steel essence of Hong Kong, we have integrated microscopic glass beads (bugles) in dark tones. This creates a shimmering effect, mimicking the city's reflective surfaces and nocturnal pulse.

  • The Investment of Time: Each tapestry in this series represents approximately one year of meticulous hand-stitching, uniting Misha Lenn's visionary "Augmento" lines with the silent, focused labor of our master artisans.
